Grit to Great Breakfast Event @ AVHS

Inspiring STEM event for girls at AVHS this morning! 

Over 30 female professionals took the time out of their busy day to have breakfast with young ladies from AVHS and share their stories.  

Ideas from a book called Grit to Great were integrated into the discussions at the event.

Attack on Robot wins at Rochester State Qualifier tournament.  Advances to the FIRST Tech Challenge State Tournament on February 5 & 6

Iron Maidens win another Connect award honoring them for their massive outreach efforts.  The team was also a finalist for the Inspire award.  Inspire is the highest award a team can earn these competitions.  The Iron Maidens were an alliance captain and advanced to the semifinals before being knocked out of the competition. 

All three FTC robotics teams placed in the top 10 at the Rochester State Qualifier tournament!  Well done Attack On Robot, Iron Maidens and Regal Kiwis.  Attack on Robot and Iron Maidens will compete that the MN FTC State Tournament on Feb. 5 & 6.

Kudos to Iron Maidens mentor Nick Aarestad.  Nick was honored with his excellent mentoring of the team with a Compass award.

E3 STEM Students in Best Buy Commercial Shoot at AVHS

Best Buy For Education shot a series of scenes in classrooms, fab lab and other spaces using E3 STEM students as "talent" at AVHS on January 14.  Excellent experience for these young people and  a large Best Buy gift card to support the purchase of more technology at AVHS.

AVHS Students enjoying 3D Printer farm thanks to UTC Aerospace & Stratasys!

New group of makers learning how about engineering design in the AVHS fab lab.  First time 3D printing their creations this trimester.  Lots of excitement!

All 6 of these printers were gained by AVHS through partnerships with local corporations.
